LAUNCH OF MASJA-SA PORRIDGE 2024M 1445H

22 Mac 2024 - Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS) is providing 3,000 packs of MASJA-SA porridge daily to be distributed to the public from March 20 to 29, 2024. The distribution takes place at the Sarawak State Jamek Mosque and the Kuching City Mosque after Asar prayers in a drive-thru manner.

The Official Launch of the MASJA-SA Porridge Distribution was held on March 22, 2024, officiated by LAKMNS Chief Executive Officer Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap bin Haji Abang Julai.

Earlier, a donation ceremony was held, where contributions were given to several mosques and suraus in the form of mosque and surau management essentials such as prayer mats, PA systems, funeral management supplies, and more. Additionally, LAKMNS also donated recycling bins to selected mosques and suraus.

At this event, contributions from companies sponsoring the ingredients for the porridge preparation were also presented. Among the contributing companies were the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), which donated meat, and Padiberas Nasional Berhad (BERNAS), which provided sacks of rice.

According to Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap, the porridge preparation was carried out collaboratively between LAKMNS staff and volunteers from the MASJA-SA Youth Club.

In other developments, LAKMNS invites the public to participate in the remaining programs in conjunction with the month of Ramadan. These include the Haflah al-Quran on March 27 and 28, 2024, at the Sarawak State Jamek Mosque and the Kuching City Mosque, respectively. Additionally, there will be Iktikaf during the last 10 nights at the Sarawak State Jamek Mosque and the Kuching City Mosque (March 31 to April 9, starting at 3:00 AM).
