The LAKMNS 7.0 Professional Management Retreat Program was held from January 7 to 9, 2025, in Mulu, Miri, Sarawak. The program was attended by 20 members of the LAKMNS Management team, including Yang Berbahagia Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap bin Haji Abang Julai, Chief Executive Officer of LAKMNS; Mr. Mohamad Feisal bin Said, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of LAKMNS; as well as Heads of Departments and Divisions.
This program served as a platform for the senior management of LAKMNS to share the achievements of 2024, the plans for each Department and Division for 2025, and the implementation of the ABC Plan (Aman, Bahagia, Ceria – Peaceful, Happy, Cheerful) of LAKMNS.
On the first day, the program began with activities at Mulu National Park, including visits to Lang Cave and Deer Cave, followed by witnessing the spectacular phenomenon of millions of bats emerging from Deer Cave at the Bat Observatory in Mulu. Later that evening, the program continued with presentations from various LAKMNS Departments and Divisions. The session was opened with an address by the Chief Executive Officer, followed by a briefing from the Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
The second day featured additional activities at Mulu National Park, including visits to the Penan Settlement, Wind Cave, and Clearwater Cave. The evening session resumed with departmental presentations, concluding with a summary and closing remarks. During the wrap-up session delivered by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, he summarized the key points presented by each Department and Division. One of the main strategies highlighted was the importance of LAKMNS contributing to the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030), which is the Sarawak State Government’s long-term master plan aimed at accelerating economic, social, and environmental development in the post-pandemic period.
In his closing remarks, the Chief Executive Officer emphasized the need for the LAKMNS management team to set “Low-Hanging Fruit” targets and objectives for each Department and Division. This approach is expected to indirectly reduce the operational expenses of LAKMNS.
On the third and final day, participants engaged in the Canopy Skywalk activity at Mulu National Park. This activity provided a unique experience of exploring the tropical rainforest via high suspension bridges, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding natural beauty.
